Eu: I wanna become Batman!
Me: Ehhh good idea, I want that too!! ( started opening up my sweater widely)!
Eu: Weih, who's going to take photo if both of us were batmen?
Me: Hmm true also....*slowly buttoning up my sweater again, sob*
So that's the story of the Batman and......a photgrapher.
Anyway, March is another lovely and slightly sunny month to me. I finally forked out some time for a Stanley Park walk with Eu last Saturday. Eu and I have been housemates for almost 2 years now, and there isn’t any side of mine that she has not seen before, that obviously includes my nocturnal bruxism, occasional blurness as well as my super messy look after sleep. I think exposing the ugliest side of ours to each other is what our friendship is truly about, as these imperfections make our bonds more beautiful naturally.
She is graduating this year and I’m really happy to see her completing the first stage of her life. Although that will also mark the official end of our experience of living together, I think we’ve done a great job in making our unit as homely as we could in these 2 years, and I haven’t been having this sense of security for quite a while since first year.
Thank you for instilling all the good habits in me all these while, I’m pretty sure that there’ll still be a minor reflection of you in me even when we’re apart. This is how I appreciate our friendship, within the heart and beyond the distance. Happy graduating my friend!
I’ve spent a significant amount of time immersing myself into music composition recently. The ability of writing 3 songs in 2 weeks has shed a light on me for my writing potential. If I count describe my current life in words, it would be the kind of life where I have a pencil and paper beside me all the time for me to jog down all my thoughts , even before I sleep, as that's actually the peak time of my musical inspiration! I believe this is a good start for me after 10 years, and it gives me a great push to sharpen my technical skills musically. That is definitely going to be my tentative plan this summer- more time on piano and guitar.
It’s funny how composing music is leading a domino effect in me because I’ve recently found a better way to develop my singing skills. I’m not a skilful singer, but I’ve figured out an appropriate breathing method to deliver my voice for songs that I once thought they did not suit my range. It feels like something dawned on me and I’m getting an insight of singing from my own perspective in a sudden.
Maybe, confidence really makes things work miraculously.
March is a month with moderate workload, considering the fact that I’m used to the life of submitting weekly assignments, and so life which consists of a consistent workload is not problematic to me anymore. I’m doing my best to divert stress into positive energy flow and let the strength encourages me in the long run. Seeking for strength is always part of the mission in my life because that is the just the foundation of life, as most of the bigger things usually start out with the strength and determination to make them attainable.
p/s: I think I’m getting better at creating cheat sheets because I can freely adjust my font size with a consistent flow nowadays.

Over the hurdle

Despite of the declaration of my 4th exam war in UBC, my life has been fantastic so far. One reason I can think of is because I’ve stroke a balance between mugging time and fun time and I know I’m catching up with my own pace. Coming to the 4th term in university, I’ve known more than enough on the only way for me to survive in uni- make me happy so that I can study harder. I gain motivation from motivating sources, like my buddies’ happiness. There are so many juicy stories (mostly exciting)from them this term which keep me alive and persevere till the end with their blessings.
Term 2 is like a mountain to me, I’m just at the hill climbing towards the top. I believe that everything is worth a sacrifice; therefore I’ve to bear with the patience and energy consumption in order to enjoy the panoramic view from the top. I like the feeling of conquering my fear and obtaining the key towards my life.I’m still on my way with a slight improvement but infinite determination within myself, but one thing I never stop believing in myself is that I won’t give up on myself so easily despite of anyone.I may tumble and fall but I will surely walk myself to the top one day.
This term is also about knitting friendships and eliminating unnecessary qualms to me. Dealing with human relationships was my biggest task apart from studying this term. I’ve just brought myself closer to some friends and letting myself all out for them, while eliminating some and being distant with them. Good thing is that I’ve finally found an intimate friend here who cares for my everything and makes me feel comfortable revealing myself to her. Finally, I’ve some sense of belonging here.
Speaking about eliminating unnecessary qualms, I just went over the hurdle and rebound again. I’ve done all the things needed to be done and I just have no reason to stay anymore. I’ve no intention to stay either, I think I deserve a better person, better life and better treatment. There won’t be any regrets because I gave myself a chance, and that’s it, failure or success, that’s just the end of it and I'm simply not bothered by it anymore.
^.^ As for now, I’m just anticipating for my rejuvenated life with more new faces showing up.

You Know Pui Mun is having exams when

She is playing with the molecular model kit again.

Notes are posted on the wall to remind her on what she has learnt the day before.
And most importantly,

She is SITTING in front of the table to study.
Hahaha. My housemates say they should take pictures of this ‘rare occasion’.
Finals are starting on Thursday, and my last paper falls on the 16th.
What happens next?
Off to the States for my white Christmas!! Whoo hooo!

This is a hard time for me.

I was re- arranging my photos the other day, and I found out the difference between my previous look and recent look.I felt like I went through a transformation because my face used to be so chubby at the beginning of 2009, and it took less than a year to lose that baby fats naturally. I think my face has never been this slim before ;the V-shape is so obvious when I smile nowadays.
NOOO.
I swear that fat loss was unintended, because I did not tie my stomach tight to slim my face.I have long accepted the fact that my face was chubby and it could hardly be changed. Thanks to the hectic workload and never-ending essay assignments, I accomplished something that I could barely achieve when I attempted to- slim face. And I’m definitely not exaggerating when I say my face is the first body part that shows the extra fats when I gain weight, now you get what I mean.
But, but, but…..
I’m not feeling very happy either. I started to understand how Eileen feels when she says she is losing weight even though she carries out a regular diet, because that is what happening to me now. But again, lacking of sleep is devastating, and what I eat can’t even compensate with the loss of sleep. If you asked me how horrible this term is, that's how it goes:
-Staying outside for more than 12 hours for lectures, group meetings, labs and tutorials. Going back home at 11 or 12 a.m is not impossible.
- Weekends are not meant to be slacking time anymore.3-4 hours of group meetings on Sunday is very common.
- Waking up at 5 or 6 a.m to study or finish assignments is not impossible, when you have 25 essays to write in 13 weeks.
-Having 2 midterms on the same day is very common, and the best way for me is to skip class on that day to squeeze out some studying time.
- Skipping lunch or dinner is not impossible, because sometimes I hit the sack right away after reaching home.

I went through another transition stage; from grumbling a lot on the workload, till I do everything quietly and automatically because I don’t know what should I say about it anymore. Because I’m running out of time, I’d rather save most of the energy as an input to produce more works.
There was once when I was sobbing while talking to Atlee gg about my group mates who left me with almost the entire project to complete with. When I found out, I had to finish the draft 2 hours before the due date on my own, and only one of the guys helped me on the latter part. There was another time when tears fell down quietly while I was doing my English essay at 5 morning, grasping the advices my English professor gave me. Stress is far beyond the word to describe my life.
But again, they taught me on the cruelty of life, if you’re not good enough, you’ll be knocked out. I accepted the cruelty, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t strive hard to survive in university. I will cry, but that also means that I will rebound after that.It is just another fall which will be followed by a rise. So, don’t worry about me, I’m not a walking skeleton, my weight has not dropped to 30+, and I still get a few hours of sleep every day.
See, I still have time to blog for you guys !
Of course, this is a hard time for me,but it will be over after final exams. Let’s pray for my last battle,I thank you in advance.

If we are all alone, then we're all together in that too
Fix You-Coldplay
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above earth or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream, down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I...
Tears stream, down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I...
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.
Coldplay's music is really a joy to listen, it calms me down in the midst of mugging, a mugger's peak time really is what I'm going through now, when the insane workload is piling up and midterms lining up one after another.I learned to calm down when I'm emotionally disturbed, perhaps it's because I think that's the only way for frustration to go out.
Fortunately at this point of frustration, I found some warm souls to fix my mind and put a smile on my face. I received a love letter from Winney aka the husband for updates and sharing her love life with me.Husband no2,eL also updated me on her 2nd year life and all in a sudden, everyone's back to a life where students will usually be, we're all back in actions!
Other than that , I've also found a good K-partner here---my housemate.I sang with her when we both were tired with our assignment datelines and midterms, so we sang together, hoping that it'll overcome the stress in us.
So there goes week 5, hectic as usual, but I know I'm not alone with you guys around, and I find motivation from your love and care. For those who don't care for me, I gotta walk out of it and move on, and just leave the unsaid things sink in the past.

An eventful weekend
I'm officially done with all midterms and lab experiments+quizzes.Finals will be in 3 week's time and look what am I doing now? I'm still relaxed and overjoyed at the thought of completion of so many assignments, tests and quizzes.Of course, this won't happen for long as I need to have early preparation for finals considering the limited brain capacity I have to cramp in 3 months of lecture notes for 5 subjects, I decided to start dating with my books this weekend.
Meanwhile, last weekend was quite eventful as I finally had some time for shopping. It wasn't about the clothes that I bought but I was contented with the free time I could have after exams.I had my first ice-skating at Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre at UBC on last Sunday with some Malaysian friends of mine.It was approximately 15 minutes of walking( or 3-5 minutes of bus ride) from my dormitory. The Winter Sports Centre consists of four rinks, two for hockey and two for public skating, but I’ve only seen 2 of them during my visit. It is also used for hockey tounaments and concerts throughout the year.

Ice-skating was enjoyable, although the skate blade was smoother and slightly more slippery that the ones in Sunway Pyramid, I still enjoyed myself there and I think my skating skills have slightly improved ,hahaha! At least I need not to hold on the wall all the time. Furthermore,ice-skating in Vancouver allows me to reminiscent on those good old times I had with fellow Ausmatians last year.
Jia Huey had her second birthday celebration on 8th Nov, her papa and mama organized a birthday party for her and invited some of her classmates to attend the party. They even bought her a cute life jacket which she started posing after wearing it and reluctant to take it off.

On the other hand, I’ve recently seen some photos of my nephews, the Kenn’s brothers. Eu Kenn has his frindge cut by his mom, and Jia Kenn nowadays smiles a lot and has better response to the camera.I really miss them so badly especially seeing those recent photos of them.

They make me proud of my another identity- Sai Yiyi (direct translation-small aunt which means the youngest Aunt in the family). I don't mind to be old with their presence afterall, seeing their growth is a bliss in life.

The leaves are turning red
Hey everyone, I just got a new laptop because my previous one couldn't work properly anymore. I suppose this laptop should be sufficient throughout my 4 years of studies.=) I'm satisfied with what I got--> Toshiba U400-061.
Mid-term has started a couple of weeks ago, and I'll be having tests continuosly till the end of Term 1, I'm just a little numb to tests. It has come to one point where I don't grumble for any tests coming in anymore, but just grab the textbook and lecture notes and start revising. That's most probably because I'm used to my schedule and my submission date for every assignment. It's repetitive though,so I'm doing it robotically once the due date is up.
To those who've sent me birthday wish in advance , I sincerely thank all of you for the time and money you all are willing to spend on me.=) I know, I'm still alive here and I'm not alone. I don't think I'll have anything big this year, since I'll be sitting for Biology mid-term on Wednesday night.=) Wish me luck please!
Winter is near, Autumn is here. The leaves begin to turn red now, I shall include a picture of it in the next post.
