Little bit about Jpop =)

Originality and styles are always the reasons which draw me into Jpop. Jpop sentimental songs don't base on
soppy and dramatic music arrangement. These songs might not make you tear but they never fail to touch the deepest side of your heart and make you let loose on your feelings. They also make me visualize things and immense myself into the song, that's why I enjoy Jpop R&B and sentimental music a lot.

I like the way Japanese youtubers improvise on each cover and make it sound like their own song, because fitting your style into a song is all that matters in making people feel comfortable listening to your music.

Strongly recommend two of the Japanese youtube channels I love:

Jpop and japanese covers, you always have my vote. :)

An irreplaceable song

This is the only JB's song that I listen to, and I really can't believe that it has been 4 years already, yet I am still so drawn to it.

I find my paradise, when you look me in the eyes. =)

A gift for BFF

I worked on a mini project for my BFF over the weekend because the threesome's birthdays fall between March and April and I realized that I haven't been doing much for them on these memorable days. This was definitely the most relaxing and enjoyable project so far, so relaxing that I could close my eyes and smile for the piece most of the time. I'm more inclined to do medleys because I always end up playing some other song in the middle of a song, in other words, I can't play a full song unless I play it with a sheet. The only reason I can explain is that I'm just too into my own world of composition, and that involves mainly imagination and innovation.

Sorry for the out-of-sync video, that has been my major problem of all times and I don't know why. My video usually gets compressed with lower quality or screwed up music when I upload it onto Youtube *sigh*.

I wish I could come up with a longer medley but time constraint is really my biggest problem now since I'm still battling with my final finals. But....but...I really hope that all of you will feel my message through the piano, my BFFs. Happy Birthday, and happy 11th frieniversary! =)

Love,

Mun and the piano

My endless passion

I had my last lecture of the term on Wednesday, carrying a mixed feeling to class for all the things that had happened in 4 years, as that would be my last time sitting in a lecture hall if I did not pursue Master's degree in future. I spent a month revisiting building by building and taking my leisure time in different buildings for the past month, just to get the last few moments of a student's life again. I reassured myself that university life did make me feel good after all despite the stress and heavy workload, and it was indeed a place where I learned to be a better person, both personality and academic wise, from all the opportunities I was exposed to.

I never enjoy the feeling of ending something, but I'm getting better and better at getting rid of the emotional side of me by thinking and acting positively. Positive energy is the only thing that carries me on after all. Furthermore, a good bye could also mean a new hello to my new chapter of life, right? I shouldn't be so sad over those things that have made me the person I am today, because they provided me a clearer vision on my life goals.

I just want to say, thank you UBC, for all the good old times.

So what's up after graduation?

Not sure if you guys have sensed it already, but I've a growing passion in composing music and I wish to expand on that. One thing that makes me so proud is that I do not need a music sheet to play a song nowadays, and I can fully utilize my creativity in playing a song freely. I'm also learning on beats mixing to make my own composition more vibrant, but it's still too early to talk about that since I've not fully mastered the skills yet. That requires a lot of brainstorming and practice of course, as I'm never a spontaneous player and I really want to perfect my work as much as possible. However, reaching this stage itself is a tremendous growth to me, as I still remember how much I struggled at the beginning and could spend the whole day just to come up with a few lines. I believe that was not a stage many could persevere without enough passion to die for. Honestly, choosing a passion that you can die for is the most important thing because that makes you feel like the uttermost unique person on earth even when no one approves your work, it still comes within the voice of your heart!

Friends asked me to actually send out demo to music labels as a breakthrough in starting up my music career as a composer. Not that I don't want to, but I think there's still a huge area of improvement for me to work on before getting to that stage. I think I'm not up to the level yet, and I will definitely try when I think I'm ready.

Also, a friend has pondered a question on me for numerous times. He said: don't you feel lonely? His definition of lonely is having no one to share your happiness in life and someone to love. But that's just not how I define loneliness, to me, being lonely is not knowing what you want in life and losing the self esteem in you slowly. Loneliness only occurs when you do not love your life enough to have made it a better one by yourself and the people around you.I've so much plans in mind that I'd love to spend my whole life venturing into, so why should I feel lonely? Studies and music haven taken up most of my time, thus I really have no time remained to culture any sense of loneliness in me. To me, everyday is a day that's worth to be remembered and loved, and supportive family and friends always give me so much love and support that are beyond my needs, so much that I don't see the reason to mourn over something that I've no control in life. You guys have never stopped believing in my ability, and that really gives me endless motivation to keep trying for what I want. I genuinely feel loved everyday, isn't that the most important thing already?

Can you feel my love for you guys?

My Big Bang Cover

Haven't been making video in 9 months and here it comes! I was really busy shuffling between this project and assignments recently, mainly because I wanted to take part in the big bang global contest although chances of winning are slim. Honestly, I don't expect myself to win at all, but I just want to make an effort to make things happen, I feel great when I've done something beyond my potential.Somehow contest is a good way to motivate me in perfecting my piano skills, if not I would really slack off from updating my youtube channel regularly.

I will talk more about this project when I'm really free, but for now, =) I hope you guys enjoy my cover and vote, vote , vote!

Here's the link

http://www.ygfamily.com/artist/Event_Info.asp?LANGDIV=E&ATYPE=2&ARTIDX=3&SchKey=Y&Page=1&IDX=42

You can search for my video under 'instrumental play' tab, followed by 'date added' tab. My video is on the 3rd page for now, and once you've seen it, just click the 'like' beside my video =D. It would be even greater if you could help me spread the words around, it's not only about winning the contest, but it's about how I'll feel encouraged by your votes in my passion.Kamsahamnida!

A new accomplishment

So, this is the project I've been talking about since last month- the 2NE1 lonely cover contest. I can’t believe how long it has taken me to an extent where I had to abandon most of the regular activities to accomplish this. I think the product is the best I could come out with after working on it for almost a month. I just scooped out a huge part of myself to make this happen, and when I think about it, I still feel very excited in making impossible things possible, despite of the frustration and stress undergone throughout the project.

Speaking about script writing, musical arrangement and directing, everything just seemed to be so new to me and I dare not put myself together with these things last time. In fact, this is my first audio-taped instrumental performance because I've not tried to compose a medley and recorded it before. Since I've never let that thought slip in me, I knew that the task was going to be challenging the moment I decided to give it a try.But still, I gave it all out and did my best to keep up with the faith. I felt so incredible to witness the entire transformation from a truckload of ideas to the formation of the actual product.

Let alone of the result, I’m glad to have started on this project because it boasts up my confidence and triggers some musical inspirations in me. I can sense the musical growth in me and that is really one of my ultimate goals. Although I’m not sure how far we could go in this competition, the new things that I’ve picked up along the way are great enough to make me a winner. The togetherness and self growth is just so significant and makes me feel proud.

Thank you everyone for making this happen, you've brought up another side of me and I really appreciate the opportunity. This is just a start, and I know that there's much more to be discovered in me in terms of music.

Life as a multi-tasker

I’m giving all out to music this summer break and devoting a lot of time in composing my own music pieces besides learning about music editing, not only for the sake of competition but also for my own collection. This is not something that I would love to show off ostentatiously because my skills are definitely not matured enough to be proud of, and I’m still in the progress to make this happen. Summer break is the only time where I have full flexibility to unleash my inspiration and put them into words and melody. Therefore, realizing my ideas instead of allowing them flying in my all day long is what my day is really about nowadays!

I’ve actually had a lot of ideas in mind since last time, so it’s just a matter of time and determination to realize my ideas. Everything can be a source of inspiration to me, a tiny sound or touching story etcetera, and I give myself sufficient time to expand on it everyday. Most importantly, I don’t deny about my creativity and the fire in me for music anymore, I unleash them instead.I really want to know how far I could go when I take music seriously.

My recent source of inspiration is G-Dragon’s music.I'm genuinely impressed by his musical creativity and imagination because there are just so many possibilities in his music, to an extent that it gives you a very good picture about the story he is trying to deliver.

OHH I LOVE GD!!!*becoming a fangirl suddenly, blush blush*

Inspirations and hard work are really my valuable assets when it comes to music.

Not only that, I’m also writing script for the first time to prepare for the competition. This is an absolutely new experience to me and I’ve known nothing better than to extract some ideas from tones and tones of music videos, and allow the scenes I’ve created to play in my mind over and over again. Wow, I’ve finally gotten a taste of the frustration of scarce resources throughout this process. I ain’t no perfectionist but having to consider about combined constraints like equipments, time, and results are really killing me sometimes.

Having said that, please please stay tuned for my first music video still, I think it’ll be out in a few weeks time.

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

Had baking session with mom last week to make up for the lack of CNY cookies I had eaten for the past 3 years. Baking session can be quite painful when it’s done alone, I’ve tried it before and it was extremely exhausting!! However, it’s a totally different story when it comes to baking with a few people since it can turn out to be a fun memory with more people sharing the work.

OOO I haven’t had homemade peanut cookies in years and my mom’s loving act has really melted my heart. She always has a place for me despite of her busy babysitting life, and I truly appreciate that.

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

I’ve been working out frequently thesedays, and I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome with 2 KGs being lost in 3 weeks. I just have to work hard to shred off another 2 KGs for my ideal weight. Turning my gear on for diet again, and I think this will be my life-time goal.

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

Of course, how can I miss out these 2 kids when it comes to summer break. Jo Kenn has grown up so much and looks slightly different from the previous pictures.

Babysitting can be quite frustrating at times with the lack of freedom and time. It does enable the thought of giving up on having babies in future to grow in my mind during frustration. And then I’ll come to a self-dilemma and start hating myself for having such a selfish thought. I often think that people who have perfect picture about marriage and children at my age have yet to see the real picture to destroy their ideal thoughts, because I used to think like them too! It’s only until I started getting in touch with children all day long and this experience brings about drastic changes in my thoughts.

Perhaps, I’m not as matured as these people when it comes to handling family issues. I really hope that this is just a phase and I’ll eventually get used to it someday.

Calm down, calm down!! I can do it!

Plans for May

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

It’s the time of the year again for our BFF reunion. Seeing them brings me an indescribable sense of comfort and security, that’s simply because they know me much better than myself, I daresay. Being the last Summer break for most of us as a Student, I think this summer is going to be extremely precious to us since it’s the last time we can enjoy all the student privileges.

Cost of graduation= no discounted movie tickets and karaoke

This summer is also my busiest break with so many plans ahead of me, but I’m definitely enjoying it delightfully because I know I would have accomplished much after the break, knowledge and experience wise. This is my plan for May:

1. Diet.
Oh my god, my life has always been in a dilemma! People either say that I’m quite skinny or I’m fat. As much as I’m confused with the contrast, what upsets me the most is hearing the remark of me looking bigger-sized than a guy, when I consider myself a distance away from 'big sized'. Anyway, criticisms are only going to make me better, and I won't wait for another inflow of criticisms to come. So,I will lose some weight healthily until I don’t hear anything negative about my size anymore. Diet go go go!

2. Hangul.
I can read most of the words for now, thus I’m working on the vocabulary and sentence structures by watching online videos. I’ve a competition with Xin on our Hangul proficiency at the end of the break, and I've faith in myself to do well when I’m very determined to pull off something. I decided to self-learn make it more challenging, so please stay tuned my rival!
=P Good luck on your summer Korean class too!

3. Music composition.
It’s just a continuation on what I’ve been doing for a few months now. I’m also learning to play piano without music sheets to train my ears. I believe that mastering this skill will enhance my music composition to make them sound more vibrant and smooth. Wish me luck, peeps!

4. Nihon-go
Although I’m focusing more on Hangul now, it doesn’t mean that I neglect Japanese completely since my goal is to master both languages in 5 years time. So, I’m revising my past textbooks nowadays and planning to take the JLPT before going on to the next level. I once told a friend that I can expand my career opportunities in Asia with the 7 languages I’ll soon master, since I’ve always wished to work in different countries in future as a way to travel to different parts of the world. Of course, I understand that opportunities do not drop by without efforts being made, so I’m equipping myself from time to time to make myself a better rival to the others.

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

Keeping myself busy is the most efficient way to keep me motivated and make good use of the break time. After learning a bit about emotion management, I realized spending my time with worthy people always brings the best out of me and makes me feel calm. That's what matters to me at this stage of life.

Live life, love life, then only can I bring myself to my dreams.

March Part (I)

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n
Eu: I wanna become Batman!
Me: Ehhh good idea, I want that too!! ( started opening up my sweater widely)!
Eu: Weih, who's going to take photo if both of us were batmen?
Me: Hmm true also....*slowly buttoning up my sweater again, sob*

So that's the story of the Batman and......a photgrapher.

Anyway, March is another lovely and slightly sunny month to me. I finally forked out some time for a Stanley Park walk with Eu last Saturday. Eu and I have been housemates for almost 2 years now, and there isn’t any side of mine that she has not seen before, that obviously includes my nocturnal bruxism, occasional blurness as well as my super messy look after sleep. I think exposing the ugliest side of ours to each other is what our friendship is truly about, as these imperfections make our bonds more beautiful naturally.

She is graduating this year and I’m really happy to see her completing the first stage of her life. Although that will also mark the official end of our experience of living together, I think we’ve done a great job in making our unit as homely as we could in these 2 years, and I haven’t been having this sense of security for quite a while since first year.

Thank you for instilling all the good habits in me all these while, I’m pretty sure that there’ll still be a minor reflection of you in me even when we’re apart. This is how I appreciate our friendship, within the heart and beyond the distance. Happy graduating my friend!

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

I’ve spent a significant amount of time immersing myself into music composition recently. The ability of writing 3 songs in 2 weeks has shed a light on me for my writing potential. If I count describe my current life in words, it would be the kind of life where I have a pencil and paper beside me all the time for me to jog down all my thoughts , even before I sleep, as that's actually the peak time of my musical inspiration! I believe this is a good start for me after 10 years, and it gives me a great push to sharpen my technical skills musically. That is definitely going to be my tentative plan this summer- more time on piano and guitar.

It’s funny how composing music is leading a domino effect in me because I’ve recently found a better way to develop my singing skills. I’m not a skilful singer, but I’ve figured out an appropriate breathing method to deliver my voice for songs that I once thought they did not suit my range. It feels like something dawned on me and I’m getting an insight of singing from my own perspective in a sudden.

Maybe, confidence really makes things work miraculously.

34987_427135777200_556607200_5140811_2313523_n

March is a month with moderate workload, considering the fact that I’m used to the life of submitting weekly assignments, and so life which consists of a consistent workload is not problematic to me anymore. I’m doing my best to divert stress into positive energy flow and let the strength encourages me in the long run. Seeking for strength is always part of the mission in my life because that is the just the foundation of life, as most of the bigger things usually start out with the strength and determination to make them attainable.

p/s: I think I’m getting better at creating cheat sheets because I can freely adjust my font size with a consistent flow nowadays.

Sodagreen

This Hokkien song is amazing.

The amazing thing is, I don’t really understand the song but the melody is just simply heart wrenching that it overwhelms everything else.

I started acknowledging Sodagreen because of MK, when she recommended me “小情歌” but I didn’t quite like that song the first time I heard it, it gave me goose bumps in a weird way. However, that’s not the end of it as the vocalist 吴青峰 composes a lot of good songs for the other singers. One of the few songs which caught my heart is 带我走. Seriously, there’s some unique talent in this guy, his songs as well as the music videos are really artistic.

His voice has an unexplainable attraction in it, it’s neither manly nor powerful but it’s soothingly soft, so soft that it calms me down.Listening to Sodagreen’s songs really feels like reading a touching storybook.

I'm a tiny dot on a paper.

I’m not a person with inborn singing talent as my singing skills are considered average, I don’t find a specialty in my voice. I barely have confidence in myself regardless of the compliments I've received.

Last time, I used to think that having a good vocal meant a person’s ability to deliver a song completely, but time has proven me wrong because singing meant much more than that to me nowadays. For now,I'll spend more time thinking how to perfect the high pitch to make it sound richer, meanwhile catching the appropriate time to pause in between verses, or even learning the correct way to breathe when I sing. Those are the blanks I need to fill in.

I’ve been searching for my voice for the past few years, tried out different singing methods to establish a stronger vocal and singing style which suits me the best. I like to sing, but it doesn’t mean that I have to perform on stage all the time. Becoming a celebrity is not my dream, what I’m looking for is enhancing my skills when I know I can do better than this. It’s more about gaining personal confidence to me, it’s more about singing my heart out for my buddies.

Some people asked me to join singing competition, just like how they encouraged me to join beauty pageant contests, but I’m still not convinced even until now. I sure know my strength well enough to understand the fact that I’m not up to that level, so don’t dream so big. Thus, just leave the task for someone else who’s better.

I’m still a tiny dot on a piece of white paper, there’s so much more for me to embrace and conquer.

Oh, I found my song!

I'm not a fan of Beatles, but somehow I'm quite familiar with their songs because those were the songs my mom used to listen and sing when I was young. Their songs are classic, because it takes what a good song needs to be, to be remembered and sung by the millions of hearts. Of course, I'd rather listen to Beatles all day long than Lady Gaga's.Listening to those meaningless lyrics like 'Rah rah ah-ah-ah!Ro mah ro-mah-mah Gaga Ooh-la-la!' seriously makes me sweat three times.

But today,I found an interesting song to resemble my name. I've come across with a Beatles's song, called 'Michelle', I'm just surprised that I didn't know it (I know I should have known it earlier). So I clicked on it and started listening, it shares the common style Beatles's songs have-simple melody, easy-to-remember lyrics,so it's easy to follow up with the music.

I'm always proud of my name(Michelle),because it has the same initial as my chinese name(Mun). I think it's important to keep up with the pride , so that it makes you feel comfortable when someone calls you by your name. Then I made some effort to look up the meaning of my name over the internet.Surprisingly,Michelle means 'like God?', so the word Michelle is popularly understood to have a strong linkage with God. (He he.Now you know you shouldn't mess with the wrong person.)

But my all-time favourites are always 'Yesterday', 'Hey Jude', and 'I wanna hold your hands'. Odd but I'm very sure that these are the songs that I will remember for the rest of my life. These are the songs that I'll hum when I sit down quietly one day and not knowing what to do.These are the ones that will pop up my head first.I think that's why the word 'legendary' is crowned on them, because it only takes a while to remember their songs, but since then there'll always be a place in heart for songs as such.

Oh, I believe in yesterday.

But I also believe in tomorrow.

Music keeps me alive

I’ve always admired those musicians who are able to reach far in the music industry, not solely for fame, but a passion to ignite their musical bones. Perhaps I’m barely as great as them, that’s why seeing these people’s performances give me the push to continue with my music life. It is a difficult path to walk, it’s either becoming very famous with your superb skills, or being washed down by the mainstream music. But because these people have made it so far, they have inspired another bunch of people who are far behind them, and to improve on it instead of commenting on their performance. I seldom comment on other people’s performance when I’m not up to the level that I’m satisfied with, I’m nothing.

I started watching this kid’s videos a year ago and I’m fully convinced by his skills. He’s just born to be the special one, with the naturally gifted fingers.

Do observe his fingers from 2:29 minute onwards, see how his fingers harmonize with the guitar.

Please remember his name, he is Sungha Jung.

Another love of mine is this pianist, Jon Schmidt. Just in case you don’t know who he is,remember the pianist who played on the youtube video -
“ Love Story meets Viva La Vida”

He was the one!!

These 2 songs definitely make a good match, what makes it sound greater is the fact that I'm so familiar with these songs. It would be awesome if I met a cello friend and then we can play duet together. I will work on the piano part as well, let’s see when I can surprise you guys with it.

But my favourite Jon Schmidt's piece is still " All Of Me"

One of my goals in life is to learn three musical instruments and to play them skillfully, without anything but my fingers. If music comes within my heart, and if I was that good, I don’t need a music sheet to remind me how to play though. Therefore I’m self-learning on how to play piano by ear recently, trying to figure out the tips from online tutorials I’ve watched so far. And I’ve found myself a new activity for next year’s summer- learn a new musical instrument. I’m choosing between Violin or Guitar I guess, give me some comments guys!

Gah, I think I really need some piano time already !!

This is my favourite soundtrack from a Japanese drama called 'プロポーズ大作戦' (Puropozu Daisakusen).

I haven't listened to this soundtrack for almost a year and I'm now back to it again.

1. Rising Road ~
4. Rainy Man
9. Sugar
10. 希望
My Way
(Piano & Strings Version)

Most of the tracks follow a soothing melody and have a tranquilizing effect on me.I must say,Japanese are really good at composing sentimental songs which are a bliss to listen at all times. These songs touch my heart and make me feel better after listening to them. To me, music is really important to heal souls and trigger inspirations.Besides that,it relates me back to some of the scenes in the drama whenever I'm listening to the soundtrack.

I watched this drama a few years back and quite like the concept of the entire series. It's about a guy who gets to travel back in time with the aid of a fairy and try to get a girl's heart. He travels to a significant time in which he and the girl both exist at that time in every episode and then slowly changes the history. I find it interesting, although the ending was not satisfying, the special episode filled my stomach satisfyingly. Also, I realize that some things are meant to be and can't be changed in reality. Don't learn to regret, but do something before you regret. Even if it does not end the way we want it to be, at least we have tried our best to put effort in it, therefore we can walk off proudly with empty hands, but a heart that consists of a bunch of memories.

I had a heart-to-heart talk with my sister last night, just good when I needed someone to talk to.I just continued with my story I told her last time and she gave me some advices.I'm just glad that you're always there regardless of the time and place.

I've been relying too much on friends for the past few months, that I feel something is missing when I don't hear from them, miss out their calls or messages, skype and MSN,neglecting the fact that they have their lives going on as well. So so, it's just a self-confession time where I should learn to swallow up my problems sometimes. Yeap, I will get to listen from you guys when the time comes, which is just a month later. On the other hand, I'm losing touch with some people, that I have no idea how to warm up our friendships. Maybe it's just going through a transition state like what my friend used to tell me

'True friends are not those who can crap with you all the time,
but you won't feel embarrassed when both of you don't talk.'

It's the heart that matters, I believe. But only those who believe it will trust me the same.

The Passion That Never Dies

She is someone that I truly salute from the bottom of my heart.

Lee Hee-ah(이희아 李僖芽)is a Korean disabled pianist with fantastic talent in piano.
To her, 10 fingers are not a luxury she can entertain. However, this does not stop her from persevering on her dream- to continue flying with her gifted piano talents.

It doesn't inspire me much on how she plays those pieces beautifully, what touches me more is her spirit, the way she believes in herself, which is one thing we need to instill in ourself to live in this doubtful world. Releasing album isn't her desire initially, it's the determination she has for piano which brings her closer to the public, for us, the global audience to listen to the joyful soul touching every of the note gracefully.

Being a piano learner, I definitely understand the route one has to go through to start as a beginner. Learning a music instrument is a never-ending journey, because it must be done without any compulsion, and determination must prevail until the day you decided to step out of it.Although born talent is a plus for a pianist, the key factor to stand on the cream of the crop is through a lot of gruelling trainings with 120% of enthusiasm. If this fails you, you'll hardly feel the excitement of being a part of the musical world. You feel forceful to have daily practises, you feel irritated at a glimpse of the piano examinations' pieces. If that's the case, what for paying yourself for a torturous course every week?

I recently told a friend that every achievement pays a price, because triumphs do not fall from the sky, if you want something badly, then you have to pay the price(badly) for it. While I was learning piano, I once came up to a point where I felt myself talentless, that even 5 hours of practice would be equivalent to 5 hours of sleep. The low confidence rushed up when I saw those professional pianists dancing their fingers on keyboard so easily.God sent me a message then, when I read articles about this korean pianist coincidentally, that I realised I need to conquer my fear to truly understand the objective of learning music.

" I like piano, and therefore learning it means making myself happy, and only I can feel the joy after much sweating"

I'm fortunate enough to have 10 fingers, it must mean that I still have the other 6 fingers to put effort on.Also fortunately, I was under good guidance by piano teacher at that time, that slowly brought me up from downhill.I reminded myself on the reason for my start, and began to understand the significance behind every music piece.Last time, I was way too rushing to reach the top technically, that I barely take the time to understand my emotions, how do I feel for the music that I'm playing.

" I must play emotionally, not just technically"

Until now, I've nothing to say about my piano skills because there are rooms for improvement. When I'm at 90%, I know that there are still another 10% for me to go on. When I'm at 100%, I must make sure that it never falls.Lucky for me, there are supportive people behind me to keep me up with my work.I'm glad I've met them- Ms Julie,Ms Bina, and always....my mom who never stops my passion. I feel warm with the encouragement and patience they shower on me, just like watering a small seed into a growing plant.

"Lee gives tribute to her mother for challenging her to master the piano and said that although her training was difficult, "as time went by, the piano became my source of inspiration and my best friend."

I'm glad I feel the same, because piano became my source of inspiration and my best friend. It has calming effect on me, accompanying me at times of ups and downs.

Thank you to my dear old friend.....piano!

I have a dream!

We never realize the importance of those things that we concern the most until we approach them and learn to make every bit of our effort to achieve it.The passion slowly grows in our heart, that it eventually stands up in the center of our circle of life.We wish to become the perfectionist of ourself, perhaps not among the cream of the crops from outsiders' views, just the best for our own soul.We wish to dwell in the ideal life like how it is imagined,we need a commitment from ourself, that will bring us there someday. This is the ever-growing passion I mean, the passion that will never come to an end, it will only stretch our self-limit,enhance our true talents.Because deep down inside, we know we're not going to chase them out of our world. These things are always there, and forever will be.

Remember those days when we were babies, we expressed ourselves through babbling and crawling.Reaching to the unreachable places was what we always thought of at that time, as if it was the biggest aim in our everyday lives.Until the day we learned to talk, we always wished to learn at a faster pace, to outstand the rest, we wanted to be the best among our friends. As we had reached the adolescent stage, we tend to have big dreams and were ambitious on our future. Coming to the age of 19,another step into the door of 20, we are mentally developed until it comes to a stage, that makes us feel: I just want to do the best on what I'm holding now, not what I'm carrying on the future. I'm uncertain on how many of you will agree with this. However, we never forget the one big dream in our heart, that we desire so much but knowing how far are we going to be from it, from the day we surrender to the reality. We switch off the power mode of our dreams because we do not want to remind ourselves on how much do we want it to come true in our life. Most people might think it this way, but I don't feel it that way to some extend.

Our current possession and effort might not match with the true dreams in our heart, but this one big dream is the only passion that will never disappear, it only grows immensely in our heart, together with our effort as well. We might success in some other fields one day, but this dream will remain as the same at the same time. It brings back reminiscence, it leaves us no regrets, not solely because of the thought of " a dream is just a dream, a dream will never come true".It is because that we transform the wants into a motivation , we put in as much effort that we will work on our dreams into the current things that we uphold. We want them to be as successful as our dreams. Say your dreams out loud, to foresee the courage you will gain to overcome the fear on things which you are working on,to believe that dreams and reality are both mutual to each other.

" leave no regrets on your dream, because you know it always stays"

Your future always stays as well.

=)Pui Mun says: My one big dream is to become a musician, to live in a world of orchestra and piano.
I hope the passion for piano works equally well on inventing new food flavors.
