Jo Kenn in the house!
LOOK AT HIS NINJA HANDS! He is definitely a potential Ninja fighter in future.
I should have put this up earlier since the baby boy is almost 2 months old now. But better late than never, so let me introduce the new member in my family officially, the small ninja fighter is baby Jo Kenn!! He almost made it on 10/10/10 but he was too eager to see the world a day earlier, so he decided to pop out on the 9th. Anyhow, I’m delighted to welcome this new October baby in the house.
Oh yeah, so now I’m a B with 4 kids around me, and when I come to think of it, I’m not exactly a B in the house anymore since I’ve passed my throne to them since Jia Huey was born. However, I’m more than happy to have one more kid to play with in next summer, as I’m really missing these cheeky kids for now.
Hola, and now I’ve another new target to buy clothes for during my Cali trip. I think I’m getting better at buying kids’ clothes after 2 years of experiences, because my taste preference will automatically switch into kids mode when I’m choosing clothes or toys for them, just to make sure that they’ll like the gift.
For now, I’d rather talk to the kids than having to handle what world has gotten me into.

A young and tough fighter ever
Reading stories of the others can be really inspiring sometimes. Every little thing can be inspiring, it injects some power into your life and makes you feel like you’ve the absolute power to make a difference in another person’s life when you’re powerful enough to control your mind and soul.
This is the third year we all are fighting for our beloved little boy Jia Kenn on CP, especially his parents. He is a tough boy, I dare say he’s tougher than anyone of us when we were at his age. The pain he endures from all sorts of therapies is really beyond description, not to mention his effort in going through all the traumatizing things at such a young age. I see how he has been occupied with all the activities everyday and how he has been fighting with them all the while. Really, I’ve never thought so much about health until I’m touched down with some real life examples from the closest person around me.
When we knew about his condition, I used to ask myself one question: Why must it be him? He’s just a baby, why must he go through so much pain and a much more difficult life?
The question remains until I read my sister’s blog one day and she says:
‘But, ugly truth always catches up with you. Truth has a nasty way of slapping you in the face sometimes. It keeps reminding you everyday with the difficulties he has to deal with as he grows older. e.g. scoliosis.’
We don’t ask why when we’re chosen for a talent, a good life, a golden opportunity or anything good and lucky, so why should we ask why when we’re given a much more challenging path than the others? We shall never ask what God has hideously planned for us, but we go through it and learn a lesson about life from there. Life has a way of going on its own without giving you a reason sometimes, until you’re willing to accept the reality and deal with it then only will you understand the reason behind it.
Also, why must we think of it as a misfortune? His presence is a gift to all of us in the family, we always feel grateful for him and big Kenn. But I never even want to think of him as a special kid, because he is just like everyone of us: to gain the general acceptance in the society, besides being able to walk and take care of his own in future.
Since then, I refused to ask why anymore because I’ve so much faith in him, I believe the day when I see him walking and hearing ‘yiyi’ from him is not far if we support him all the way down the road. Also, I’ve gained so much power from Jia Kenn, so I really hope that he’s also pumped up with all the support around him and keep up the good work until he reaches the miracle.

I love the boys, very very much. I feel thankful for the boys, very very much.
Thank you Kenns’ mama for the boys and also all the hard work all these while.
While we are still ranting so much about our lives, have we ever thought of those who suffer so much more than us, so much that’s enough to keep our mouth shut and just keep going on with our well-gifted opportunity to live.
It’s a pleasure to be given an opportunity to live an ordinary life and possess all that we have, have you ever thought of it?

Nanny talks
One of my daily tasks nowadays is to pick up my niece from her school. I’ll wait at the school entrance every afternoon until JH comes out of her class and then bring her home. If you were to ask me about the most enjoyable moment throughout this experience, it would be the moment when I hold her tiny hand, asking her about her school life while walking towards the car.Because of that, I get a taste of my mom’s feeling when she used to pick me up from school since I was in kindergarden and all the way until high school. I also understand the feeling of having a fixed and repetitive schedule daily, as well as the sacrifices a mom makes for her children.

I must say children these days are getting more busy as compared to the childhood times I had last time. When I was at her age,I spent most of the time playing with my toys and also watching how Jerry fooled Tom. But also because of the early education, they are undoubtedly smarter and cheekier, so time is really the price they pay for their learning progress in future.
I've also noticed that moms are especially concerned about the daily amount of water their children drink in school. When I was still schooling, my mom used to check my water bottle everyday after school and scolded me if my bottle was still full. So, one of the activities I loved doing with my classmate was to compete drinking water with each other a few minutes before school ended, just to save myself from going through all the trouble.
There’s a saying ‘like mother like daughter’, since my mom has become a grandma now, there’s actually another person who shares the same concern with her on this matter, the one whom her bottle used to be checked when she was young. The first thing my mom or my sis would ask her granddaughter/daughter when she picks up JH is :Did you drink water today? Did you finish drinking your water? Let me see your bottle.
Wow, I used to hear that everyday too, the thought of seeing another kid going through the same thing as I did before amuses me.

Ya, I really wonder if all moms are the same.
Upon writing this entry, I really feel like as if I’m stepping into the NANNY world with a lot of childcare experiences to share with you guys. A lot of my friends say I’m a potential mom in future due to my experiences, hmmm in which I doubt a lot on that because for now, I'm not prepared to have a child in future yet.
I feel old, literally.
Nahh, how not to feel so when my third nephew is coming to this world soon!!

私わ幸せを感じる.

The Kenns just went to Kangarooland last month, with their papa and mama. Kangarooland was the place where their mama and papa graduated in university, that's why this trip must have brought back a lot of reminiscing memories to them. That time, there were only 2 of them. Now, the Kenns joined the family and brought them to a whole new level, in a good and happy way.
Eu Kenn= Energizer King
Big Kenn is so cheeky as usual. He goes to school nowadays and has learnt how to say "I love YiYi".
Jia Kenn=Joyous King
Small Kenn’s smile never fails to melt my heart. He has very charming smiles. So go baby J!
Really can’t wait to see these 2 small boyfriends of mine already. Seeing their growth and being part of their family is a tremendous feeling, especially when they used to be so tiny and gradually grew up and picked up things a bit by a bit.
Oh ya, Sai yi yi is going to be an aunt for the third time in October/November.That gives me a valid reason to anticipate more for October and November to come.BB, although I can’t be by your side when you first open your eyes, do come to the world in October if you can decide for yourself.
I’ll definitely share my birthday presents and wishes with you if that happens.
I give you my Pooh bear, okay?

The Kenns say cheese!
So another day my housemate and I suddenly touched on the topic of pregnancy and having kids. Both of us think that having kids is a big responsibility, so we may not be able to handle it. Being a typical future economist, she started talking about the cost of nurturing a child.
The funny part was that she was standing in front of the door and talked so seriously while standing there for 10 minutes. Come to think of it, we’ve done all sorts of crazy things before, can even stand and sing for a song, and then get back to assignments, so this random yet in-depth conversation isn’t something unusual.
Anyway, back to the topic. I think kids are wonderful creatures and gifts by God, and I see the difference between a family before having a child and after a child is present in the family. Well, at least in my family, the change is great and joyous. Everyone feels so blessed and happy with their presence, their parents are happy, and grandpa and grandma always talk about their grandsons, the yi-yi’s can’t stop buying and thinking of new toys and clothes for the twins and also the little niece.
However,I can’t foresee myself having kids in future, I doubt if I’d ever marry in the first place. The presence of my nephews and niece inject some pure happiness and innocence into my life, they complete my life as an aunt. Therefore, I'm grateful with what I have for now and I truly enjoy the feeling, because I may not have the same experience in future, as they’ll grow up one day and start venturing for their life adventure.
Happy New Year , Big Kenn and Small Kenn. Your popo said you guys are getting cheekier, Big Kenn doesn’t want to thank popo for making milk for him huh. Naughty!
Small Kenn enjoys swimming a lot, and we can always bring him for swimming nowadays since there’s a pool in our residential area. Whee!
And Kenns’ mama , do take care of yourself and never stop believing in miracles too, because I chose to believe that the day will finally come. He’s always the tough and good boy in my heart.

An eventful weekend
I'm officially done with all midterms and lab experiments+quizzes.Finals will be in 3 week's time and look what am I doing now? I'm still relaxed and overjoyed at the thought of completion of so many assignments, tests and quizzes.Of course, this won't happen for long as I need to have early preparation for finals considering the limited brain capacity I have to cramp in 3 months of lecture notes for 5 subjects, I decided to start dating with my books this weekend.
Meanwhile, last weekend was quite eventful as I finally had some time for shopping. It wasn't about the clothes that I bought but I was contented with the free time I could have after exams.I had my first ice-skating at Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre at UBC on last Sunday with some Malaysian friends of mine.It was approximately 15 minutes of walking( or 3-5 minutes of bus ride) from my dormitory. The Winter Sports Centre consists of four rinks, two for hockey and two for public skating, but I’ve only seen 2 of them during my visit. It is also used for hockey tounaments and concerts throughout the year.

Ice-skating was enjoyable, although the skate blade was smoother and slightly more slippery that the ones in Sunway Pyramid, I still enjoyed myself there and I think my skating skills have slightly improved ,hahaha! At least I need not to hold on the wall all the time. Furthermore,ice-skating in Vancouver allows me to reminiscent on those good old times I had with fellow Ausmatians last year.
Jia Huey had her second birthday celebration on 8th Nov, her papa and mama organized a birthday party for her and invited some of her classmates to attend the party. They even bought her a cute life jacket which she started posing after wearing it and reluctant to take it off.

On the other hand, I’ve recently seen some photos of my nephews, the Kenn’s brothers. Eu Kenn has his frindge cut by his mom, and Jia Kenn nowadays smiles a lot and has better response to the camera.I really miss them so badly especially seeing those recent photos of them.

They make me proud of my another identity- Sai Yiyi (direct translation-small aunt which means the youngest Aunt in the family). I don't mind to be old with their presence afterall, seeing their growth is a bliss in life.

Their growing paths, step by step
She is my niece- Jia Huey (JH)

It's a joy seeing their growing paths bit by bit because both are of different experiences. First, we have JH , the little girl who has now turned into a cute kiddy .Her laughter and naughty side have always amused us, as we always think that she inherited the positive genes from her mother of her optimistic character.
A year later, PM "raised" his status by having 2 more cute nephews.
They are my nephews, Eu Kenn as the elder brother and Jia Kenn is the younger one.

Then, our family expanded with the 2 little Kenn's joining us last year. The joy was doubled , but same to the patience and time showered on them. They are pre-matured babies.
Can you imagine, their weight was even lesser than a refill packet of Milo when they were born? And they managed to improve every month, with increased weight and improved health condition.
I love three of them, just like they are my kids. A very big reason for it is because of my involvement in their growth, as I was/am a babysitter for three of them before.I had my frustration at first, but it was soon to be filled up with much more enjoyable time with them. They make me feel in such a way that, they deserve my whole dedication to them without any reward. There isn't anything needed to be re-payed, because they provide me with a solid feeling that only they could give me. I find calm and peace in them, their one smile, one kick make simple things become lively and significant. I feel the satisfaction and relief witnessing their growing process, pure and sincere contentedness. This is what makes me happy.
I'm still waiting to hear " Sai Yi" from their mouth one day.
That will be very soon, I believe.
Everything happens for a reason, and luckily they came into my life when I was thrown in the dark, at that period of time.

A Busy April!
I've been living busily since the beginning of March, this keeps my friend wondering what kind of lifestyle I'm up to, those who don't catch up with me often will always ask:
"PM, why don't I see your pictures on your blog?"
I decided to do a little bit of revealing to clear off your doubts, to let you all know that I'm fine though daily routine still continues, but I begin to immune myself to it, and explore the excitement of the day.
Keeping myself busy is a way to lose weight naturally, this works on me I feel.

I made myself to the Samadian Idol's Final, knowing that Winney made it to the final round, I was there specially to support her and inject her with some confidence by seeing some familiar faces down stage. I hope you enjoyed the entire competition, every bit of it from friendship to the supportive crowd, criticism is a way to let you stand out from failures, you'll never get to satisfy everyone, =) but one thing here is, you never fail to satisfy your supportive audiences here, us!
"Winney, bravo and you won for your courage and effort, for always being the singing enthusiast!"
It was another pleasant day being reunited with old friends, they are always the best people to spend a day with.

Everyone of us gathered together before Karen left for her tertiary education to Inti Nilai. The usual lunch, chit-chatting and movie outing to all of us, but it feels greater seeing my close friends who I've not been up together for months.
Thank you Chew Lian,Karen,Catherine,Lester.
How I wished Susie was there to complete the bunch of us.
My sincere confidant, I miss our Sarawak trip!!

There were 2 birthday celebrations in April, with the presence of the 2 birthday girls-Pui Yan and Suk Teng, both are my primary buddies. To make it special, MK and I went to buy cupcakes for Pui Yan, and specially made a CD with some meaningful tracks in it. Then it reminds me of every birthday celebration we spent together since standard 6.
Looks like all of us have grown up a lot! From innocent kids to big big girls!
From parents driving us around, until we drive our friends around ! I'm glad, to have you girls accompanying me during my adolescent time.

My first event job was to be a skincare promoter for Cellnique. Fanny, the one beside me on the picture,is my partner of the 5 working days. As expected, it was a tiring promoting job, attracting customers to catch up with the current promotion Cellnique offers.
I suppose the unexpected thing out of it is making a few nice friends and keep in touch with them. Suprisingly, I'm the only K.L born student among them. Come to think of it, it might be a good thing as I can foresee more local trips to be held in future.
Next job------ Beverage promoter
And lastly....
Them...

Them....

and her..

All 3 of them are making my day busy, since it's almost a 24/7 babysitting job,
I feel that I'm getting older and older in terms of age and physical condition.
Being called " yi-yi" by my niece everyday reminds me of "aunt minnie" often called by my friends- Ah lian and Ah bong , I think I'm really ahead of you all in that case.
Remember what did I say in one of the entries
"Perhaps I babble too much with my niece and nephews nowadays, that I lose my adult side!"
This is what happened when
" Open eyes I see them , Close eyes also I see them!"
Perhaps you got me by now!
With all these activities, I can conclude that my current life is good, confronting new challenges weekly and adapting myself as a babysitter, enjoying the happiness with just one of their smile!
What a busy but exciting April!

Way Back Into 2007
2007 is the year Pui Mun got her driving license. The entire process was a little exciting, but soon I found out there are handful of things to be taken care of while driving. I promise, I must learn reverse parking and improve on my reversing skills!!Automatic cars are just made for people like me though, or not I could have been risking somebody's lives driving manually(hmmm...nonononono!!)
"Slow and steady,always get ready"

2007 has been a turning point to me, a lot of gains, but a lot of sacrifices at the same time.It isn't that bad after all, as I did have good times with my new friends, I know good times don't always come, that's why we took so many photos this year.Yea, I actually took A LOT OF PHOTOS compared to last time,in which I think taking photos would be great with the right bunch of people in it,then only would it recall good memories.

Pui Mun received some meaningful gifts to be added into her collection this year. Special gifts from special people ,make up the price of the gift.I really enjoy the feeling of receiving d.i.y gifts, because I know they did this specially for me,with all our memories in it.=) Perhaps it's because those wonderful days that we had, which make me feel happy about it. "Be tough,Pui Mun!!"

I managed to visit my pen-pal at last, just before he went abroad to Japan. It wasn't any exciting nor pleasant, but it's the satisfaction I got for fulfilling our promise,I'm glad that we did not break the promise.Perhaps we need more time until both of us will open up to each other. It feels good to have reunited with an old friend,a friend who grew up with you and still keep in touch despite we're distant.
=) Good luck and enjoy life in Tokyo,my friend!
"=) Looking forward for our next meeting, hopefully there is still one"

Finally we had another family trip after 2 years.I always believe that family trip is the time to get ourselves relaxed. But this trip was a little different, it was tiring but a trip of knowledge,an experience to get into the other part of the world,in which we care less about. Less shopping, but more money donated to the needy people.Less photos of us but more on the interesting scenes of the local people.I'm glad, that I felt something different during this trip,I'm glad it was still a trip with every one of you,Dad,Mum and Sam J!!
" Smile for every moment you spend with your family,Pui Mun!! Because it's rare, and all of them are precious"

My niece has turned to a year old this year.A warmful and simple birthday celebration was held at my house with some of the relatives and friends coming to share the joy.=) Jia Huey is really a cheerful baby who makes everyone smile, playing with her is the best medicine to kill off my boredom. But it's great to see her development, from crawling to walking, from babbling until she says "baby" precisely.
To make it better,I've newly become an older aunt with 2 more nephews present this year.Keep me wondering how would 2009 CNY be with these 3 kids around.=)This must be something interesting!!My family keeps on expanding...and expanding....
"Pui Mun's life becomes wider with the presence of these 3 babies"

I did a lot of crazy things this year. But one of them would definitely be special,I gave in to Carl's Jr, it is " the real burger king" like what SQ described it as.Delicious food come with "good" price though, the natural combination, but it's definitely worth a try,not just a bite!
I decided not to make any new year resolutions this year, because resolutions fail without my effort.=) I'll go step by step to achieve those wishes until they come true.Happy 2008 to everyone!=) I will end my post by thanking everyone to stand by me most of the time, in times of happiness and depression.

"2007 is one of the greatest years in Pui Mun's 18th years of life"

Because the people are all of you, that's why it is special.Thank you for all the messages you guys wrote,I'll always make sure thse things do not get out of my table.
