Anticipating for August.

I'm now working as a part-time promoter for Haagen Dazs new flavour- Mango & Passion fruit. The job will last for 3 weekends, in which 2-3th August will be the last round of work. Prior to this, I had worked under King's for Buds and King's temptation ice-cream series a few years back. Mango & Passion fruit is irresistible to me, as mango is always my first choice of all other flavours, the passion fruit bits further enhance the taste making the ice-cream a little sourish.I think this is what led me to accepting this job as I will get unlimited supply of ice-cream besides the wages.

Come to think of it, I will need to ready a sum of money for preparation for uni. Let alone the tuition fees, I'll have to earn sufficient amount of money to do some shopping besides buying the electrical gadgets, which I've started last month. That means I'll have to save a few thousands at minumum before I can touch my new camera, and possibly notebook as well.I bet this best explains my workaholic lifestyle for the past few months, as all these expenditures will be coming out from my pocket without having to dig into past savings account.

Speaking about uni, everything is on its progression, as for visa issuance and flight reservation. My dad has just subbed a credit card for me in case of emergency matters( with a limitation, of course XD) .Other that that,I've just registered myself for an English proficiency test, LPI which will be held on the second day I reach Vancouver. Besides that, I'm on the way settling my subjects registration and fitting every single subject required into my timetable. In addition, I've to confirm my booklist for book reservation to ensure the books availability meanwhile enjoying the special discounted rate.About the accommodation , I'm quite abandoned by the on-campus housing, even after appeal has been made. Fortunately, I've found myself a suitable lodging to rent with its strategic location and reasonable room rate , about 20 minutes bus ride from the campus, and another 15-20 minutes bus ride to downtown and Chinatown. I hope they don't disappoint me on my room reservation though.Besides that, I'll be given an U-Pass exclusively for UBC students for public transportation , which will cost me CAD 23.75 per month, CAD 190 for a semester to be precise.

Before a round of farewell gatherings, I'll be off to Vietnam for a week to visit my elder sister and her family on the 10th August. Vietnam is quite a good place for its local delicacies and shopping means. The bad side will be of an unstable electricity supply due to insufficient power to generate electricity. My brother-in-law has bought a generator to get rid of it, or else Jia Huey will be on fever on and off.

About farewell, I've started to expand my imagination after being told about the surprise party and stuff, I think I roughly know the planning in my mind,so let's see if it matches with their real planning or not. Mk suggested to have a yumcha session before sending me for my flight, that'll be a good idea of course, even if it fails, we'll still have regular hangouts before that. Chew Lian has informed me about the surprise party and roughly told me the attendance, plus some surprises. Wei Lun also hints me on a surprise he would give if he could make it on time. Lastly, it'll be my 2 secondary buddies who plan to have an outing on 23th August, for a deep talk maybe? I always enjoy those good chatting times we have.It seems like everyone is trying to surprise me for this time, should I be ready for it? Anyhow, let's just have fun like usual for the one last time before I leave.

All in all, my August timetable will be fabulous for sure, with a lot of happening things occurring in a shot. After August, it'll be time to shut down my playing mood and return to my student's life. Being a student is always a joy at all times.

August, I'm coming. Or should I say, Vancouver, I'm coming?

Their growing paths, step by step

She is my niece- Jia Huey (JH)

It's a joy seeing their growing paths bit by bit because both are of different experiences. First, we have JH , the little girl who has now turned into a cute kiddy .Her laughter and naughty side have always amused us, as we always think that she inherited the positive genes from her mother of her optimistic character.

A year later, PM "raised" his status by having 2 more cute nephews.

They are my nephews, Eu Kenn as the elder brother and Jia Kenn is the younger one.

Then, our family expanded with the 2 little Kenn's joining us last year. The joy was doubled , but same to the patience and time showered on them. They are pre-matured babies.

Can you imagine, their weight was even lesser than a refill packet of Milo when they were born? And they managed to improve every month, with increased weight and improved health condition.

I love three of them, just like they are my kids. A very big reason for it is because of my involvement in their growth, as I was/am a babysitter for three of them before.I had my frustration at first, but it was soon to be filled up with much more enjoyable time with them. They make me feel in such a way that, they deserve my whole dedication to them without any reward. There isn't anything needed to be re-payed, because they provide me with a solid feeling that only they could give me. I find calm and peace in them, their one smile, one kick make simple things become lively and significant. I feel the satisfaction and relief witnessing their growing process, pure and sincere contentedness. This is what makes me happy.

I'm still waiting to hear " Sai Yi" from their mouth one day.

That will be very soon, I believe.

Everything happens for a reason, and luckily they came into my life when I was thrown in the dark, at that period of time.

P.J is such a small place to be.

Incident 1- JPJ office

2 days ago, I accompanied my sister to the JPJ office at the state to renew her driving license. On the way walking to the office, I met Brandon, my college mate who took a few same subjects as me last year. He curled his hair and it looked very different from his previous hairstyle, the "Rain's" hairstyle that I recall. We greeted each other and kept the whole conversation to a 2 minute long. It wasn't the first time I bump into him as I met him at his workplace last time with my other college mates.

Incident 2- On the way to Federal Highway

Then another day while I was driving and paused for the traffic lights, I looked out the window and surprisingly I saw Valerie's parents waiting on my right. I waved to them like a ShaPoh until they saw me! =) After that, we went on to separate roads when the green light was on, but car-meet-up incident was very out of expectation and slightly lightened my day, Val's parents are one of the friends' parents I'm familiar with, partly because the binded friendship Valerie and I have, and the neighbour relationship we share. There was one year whereby I met Val everyday from Monday-Sunday because we joined the same society on Saturday and self-defense class on Sunday. Those were the days I had with Valerie.

Incident 3- Fotosun Digital Image shop

Today, I went to take passport-size photos at a digital image shop in SS2 but unfortunately I was told to either change into a shirt of a darker colour or to wear the provided L-sized coat, which the length of it is quarter longer than my usual one. I decided to go home and change it because I feel it's a must and since I'll be paying, I'll make sure I look alright to worth my pay for it. On my second return to the shop, I met Melissa, my secondary classmate when I was waiting for the photos to be fully developed. In a small shop, a afternoon, of all places, it took place in a photoshop. Everything happened in that 20 minutes of my stay in the shop, and we met in between that, how coincident was that.

This chain of series happens one after another and I feel strange as these places aren't very highly crowded public locations, moreover I don't visit those places regularly. Some people claim this as fate, but I think it's disarranged plan for me to meet up as many friends as possible before I leave, in between my packed schedule. Friends have been grumbling on my schedule these days, I feel bad as well because those are the unavoidable things needed to be done, such as Visa application, air-tickets arrangement, course registration, training for my work, becoming the driver of my both nephews etc, I feel dried up at the end of the day(head straight down to the bed). Speaking about farewell, I'll leave it to all of you to decide it , whether to do it big or do it small. What I really seek for is the quality of time I spend with the good friends here before I fly off.Gah, going to celebrate birthday alone this year =P, don't laugh at me okay? Hahaha, I think there'll be more self-celebrating birthday to come in the few coming years.I've the most invitations during my busiest time, I feel extremely bad to turn down every single of them, but I promise will settle everything as soon as possible so that I share equally good time with every one of you. That's very important to me.

End of the day, I can't help but to agree with the saying , P.J is such a small place to be. With the limited people I know, I still managed to meet few out of the few.

The Dark Knight

I was chatting with SQ over our highly anticipated movie " The Dark Knight" the other day while he was online. It wasn't our first time discussing about this movie but we always enjoy watching the trailers for its very cool vehicles besides the impressive effects shown in the movie.

Frankly I'm not a "Batman Begins" enthusiast mainly because of its boring storyline in my opinion. I couldn't help but to turn it down after watching for 15 minutes, there weren't much scenes that strike my nerve and make me feel anticipated, except for the Batmobile appeared in the movie which took my attention more than the movie alone.Let alone the movie, I still adore Batman as a superhero among all the other existing heroes on screen, not only because of his fair share of justice and conscience, he has everything that makes me look upto, something unattainable in real but will be visionally enjoyble to see it happening.

Just like this...

The Dark Knight will be on screen 17th July, 2008, 8 days later precisely. This time, I'm awaiting for it to come , based on many reasons.

Let's start from talking about The Joker- one of the most exciting characters of all.
Honestly I do not know much about Heath Ledger in person before this, but what impresses me is that his sacrifice for this movie, for a one last time. As an ordinary person, not much of us will be willing to turn to an evil person, put on make-up and be plastered on the face, which will look entirely different from our normal faces. That's only a small part of it, he needs to look ugly, evilly behaved, every aspect which needs him to transform it bit by bit. This is what makes The Joker an interesting yet evil character to watch.

I will rate the Batpod as the second most exciting thing in the movie.Although,Batmobile has always been my favourite, before or after the existence of Batpot.Despite of that,Batpod never fails my anticipation in terms of appearance and function.I bet, it's the timing matters as the coolest thing always comes out at peak of the show, just like a life-saver for the main character in many typical movies.

There'll always be a fuss over the movie to heat up the fever before it's on screen. Some compare The Dark Knight to The Godfather, in which I feel it is way too early to examine the likeness of both movies since The Dark Knight is not even out yet.

Too much of anticipation, let's not hope that The Dark Knight will bate my enthusiasm on this big movie.
